LADIES CHAMPIONSHIP 2011

The ladies have a new champion in Wilma Lawrence.

Results :- 1st - Wilma Lawrence - 229 (78, 74, 77), 2nd - Catherine Duncan - 233 (79, 79, 75), 3rd - Fiona Sim - 238 (79, 79, 80).

Nan Byars was the winner of the Handicap Championship with a score of 202 and Penny Johnston was the Bronze Scratch winner with 286.

LADIES OPEN

Wilma Lawrence continued her good form and returned the best scratch score of the day with a 78 to win the Stephen Trophy. Best nett score with a 73 was former Ladies Captain Rose Riddell.

Results - scratch - 1 -78 - Wilma Lawrence, 2 - 81 - Fiona Lamont, 3 - 84 - L White (Hazlehead). Bronze scratch - 1 - 98 - Val Forrester, 2 - 101 - Kathleen McGoldrick, 3 - 101 - Kathleen Groundwater. Silver Handicap - 1 - 73 - Rose Riddell, 2 - 75 - Nicki McAuley (Merchants), 3 - 75 - Carol Cormack(Peterculter). Bronze Handicap - 1 - 75 - Aileen Duthie, 2 - 77 - Marie Crothers, 3 - Pam Droy.

Ruby Stephen Goblets

Twenty couples took part in the competition held on a beautful sunny day. Irene Mearns and John Holyhead took the honours with a nett 66.5. In second place were John and Fiona Currie on 69 and third were Joe Riddell and Fiona Sim on 69.5.

2010 Season

It was the turn of the Ladies prizegiving on Saturday nightand a healthy 42 ladies attended. The buffet was excellent with everyone going round at least twice and the evening finished with plenty of dancing and hilarity. Also on the night an excellent £139.06 was raised for breast cancer. Fion Sim with the help of an eagle two at the 12th hole in the second round coasted to her first championship success by 7 strokes from former champion Fiona Lamont. The bronze scratch winner was Pam Leiper and the overall silver/bronze handicap winer was Jan Bradford who only started playing in the ladies competitions over the previous two weeks.

Results - 1st Fiona Sim - 232 (77, 80,75), 2nd - Fiona Lamont - 239 (85, 78, 81), 3rd - Catherine Duncan - 244 (85, 78, 81), Fiona Currie - 244 (87, 77, 80).
